After spending a few days at the site in Garton on the Wolds, we thought it would be good to go somewhere for a proper trip away that was easy to get to, dual carriageway and motorway, and around a 3 hour drive. Anglesey, North Wales looked a suitable place to go, motorway and dual carriageway to within 2 miles of a suitable caravan site in Llangefni. We set off heading for Caeau Crinion Certificated Site in Rhostrehwfa, a few miles from Llangefni. A very quiet site with 5 grass pitches, and a portacabin containing showers and toilets. For just £12 a night, that included 6amp hookup which is enough to run the caravan lighting and power sockets, but not for the kettle so it was a trip into town (Llangefni) to find a camping shop to buy a kettle that we could use on the gas hob. After playing around to see what would work and blowing the power a few times, we found we could run the TV and computers/phone chargers from the 13amp sockets and the lighting worked fine using the 12v supply. Could not understand how the two different power supplies worked back then, but understand them now.
