An easy 10 mile circular walk from New Lodge Farm via two woodlands.
Start: New Lodge Farm, Bulwick
Distance: 10 miles
Toilets/Refreshments: Fineshade Woods (5 miles)

Starting from point 1, turn left out of the caravan site and cross the A43, heading slight right and then turn left signposted Bulwick. Carry on for half a mile into Bulwick village and proceed towards the church.
Turn left opposite the village shop, just before the red telephone box (point 2) and walk past the church to find the footpath sign.
Continue along the footpath for 1 mile, passing through 3 fields. The path is clearly marked out, then head through the gate and turn left along the road into Blatherwycke village.
Where the road bends to the left, there is a footpath directly ahead signposted historic church. Go through the gate and follow the footpath past the church (point 3). The church is open during the weekend and owned by the Churches Conservation Trust.
Continue along the footpath, passing Blatherwycke lake and a selection of trees until you come to a split in the path. Straight on takes you to Kings Cliffs, turn left and head slightly downhill and across the field, crossing a stream half way until you come to a road. Pass through the hedge and turn left, walking along the road for half a mile until you come to a farm track and bridleway sign on your right (point 4).
Walk up the farm track until you come to the woodland, keep straight on and walk a short distance through the woods until you come to open fields. The track splits into 4 at this point. Turn right just before the remains of Fineshade Abbey and head over a stile, keeping the hall to your left. The path climbs through more woodland before opening up into a field. Cross the field to the road and turn right up to Fineshade Woods visitors centre where you will find a cafe and toilets.
Continue back down the road for half a mile and cross the A43. Keep walking for half a mile and turn left into Wakerley Woods. Where the track bends to the right towards the car park you will see a locked gate straight ahead. Go through the gate and keep to the forest track (point 6). After 2 miles you will see a small footpath to the left marked by arrows. Turn left and follow the path out of the woodland and across a field into Laxton village (point 7).
Walk through Laxton and up the hill towards the church. Keep to the road for another mile to return to your starting point.
