After a quiet start to the week we had a few nice evenings. Starting on Wednesday night (6th Sept.) we joined the locals at nearby Shuckburgh Arms in Southwick. The pub sells a variety of local beers and had Rutland Osprey on this evening, a very nice beer.
Thursday (7th Sept.) was the usual working day up until around 4pm when we had a quick break to try a piece of very nice cake from the caravan site cafe. A sort of chocolate cake, containing beetroot and courgette and covered in seasonal fruits and berries. We also booked our seasonal pitch for 2018 and paid the deposit. Next year we will be on pitch number 10 which is close to our current pitch 14. In the evening we went to our local Chinese restaurant, (Choi's) for something to eat. Very nice food and reasonably priced.
Friday (8th Sept.) Work during the day, the evening was the charity barn dance for the Osprey project at Manton village hall. Starting at 7pm and going on until 11pm. A variety of great dancing and a large hog roast. So much meat, had 2 portions and a good sized takeaway portion at the end of the night. A selection of photos are available on our Facebook page.

Saturday (9th Sept.) My last morning shift at Lyndon visitors centre before it closes for the winter. Very quiet, just 25 visitors all morning. The evening was fish and chip night on the caravan site in the club house, with the large screen TV on for anyone who wanted to watch it.
Sunday (10th Sept.) Nice to see Linne Matthews and Nigel for morning coffee and cakes at out caravan. A nice cream/jam sponge cake was provided by Linne. A quick drive out to Brigstock during the afternoon for an hour then it was down to Egleton visitors centre for the Osprey volunteers end of season fish and chip party with some interesting entertainment.
